Bali Luxury Yacht Charter FAQ | Azure Helm Concierge

> Most guests want three answers first: what a day costs, what’s included, and whether it’s licensed. A Bali luxury yacht charter with Azure Helm is priced per yacht per day (not per guest), typically from around USD 2,500 upward for premium motor yachts departing Benoa Harbour, with fuel, crew, catering and water toys itemised. All figures below are indicative, dated as of 2026, and subject to change.

Azure Helm is a concierge brand operated by Bali Premium Trip. Where a yacht is not owned outright, we arrange it through vetted licensed partners. We are not the asset owner and not a licensed financial, legal or tax adviser. Nothing here is a guarantee of a specific vessel, price or outcome. For a firm quote on live dates, message our concierge team on WhatsApp (https://wa.me/6281128590000).

How is a Bali yacht charter priced?

Pricing is per yacht, per day — not per head. One rate covers the vessel and its crew for the booked hours; guests split the cost among their group.

As of 2026, market context helps set expectations. Asia Global Yachting cites Bali day charters from around USD 2,500 per day. The Sailo marketplace shows Bali boats averaging roughly USD 1,230 per day, with a spread from about USD 319 to USD 7,272 depending on size and class. Ultra-premium motor yachts and superyachts sit at the top of that range. There is no published superyacht day-charter tariff in Bali, so we quote indicative concierge ranges tailored to the vessel, season and itinerary.

See our [rates and pricing page](/pricing/) for the current indicative tables.

What’s included, and what costs extra?

A base day charter typically includes the vessel, professional crew, safety equipment and the agreed cruising route. Common add-ons are itemised so you only pay for what you use.

Line item Usually included Common add-on
Vessel + crew Yes
Fuel Route-dependent Long-range surcharge
Catering / bar Basic refreshments Chef menu, premium wine
Water toys Snorkel gear Jet ski, SeaBob, paddleboards
AV / sound Standard system DJ, live music, staging
Concierge Booking support Photographer, floral, cake

Full inclusions vary by yacht. Our [inclusions and add-ons page](/inclusions/) breaks down each option.

How many guests can a yacht hold?

Capacity depends on the vessel. Day-charter motor yachts from Benoa commonly host intimate groups of up to 12 for a cruising experience, while larger superyachts and event-configured vessels carry more for dockside or celebration setups.

Because safe capacity is set per vessel and per activity (cruising versus static events differ), we confirm the exact figure for your chosen yacht before booking. Tell our concierge your headcount and we’ll match the right boat.

Where do charters depart, and where can they go?

All Azure Helm charters depart Benoa Harbour, Bali’s main commercial port and primary yacht gateway. Benoa sits about 30 minutes by road from Ngurah Rai International Airport — a flyover project is expected to cut that toward roughly 5 minutes once operational.

Destination What it’s known for
Nusa Dua Bukit Peninsula resort belt
Uluwatu / Bukit South-coast cliffs
Nusa Penida Crystal Bay, manta sites
Nusa Lembongan Beach clubs, snorkelling

Transit times depend on vessel speed and sea state, so we quote realistic ranges rather than fixed minutes. Our [day-charter routes page](/routes/) maps each option.

Is the operation licensed and registered?

Yes. Charters are arranged through vetted, licensed partners, and Benoa is a fully controlled commercial port. Benoa Marina Bali describes itself as the only exclusive marina dock in Bali specifically serving yachts, and states it is officially registered and licensed by Indonesian authorities.

The wider infrastructure is expanding fast. According to industry reporting, on 22 May 2025 PT Marina Development Indonesia with Pelindo broke ground on Bali Benoa Marina, described as Indonesia’s first full-service international yacht marina, engineered with floating concrete pontoons by SF Marina of Sweden. Plans call for 180 berths, of which 50 slips are designated for superyachts up to 295 ft (90 m). Phase 1 (Q4 2025) opens Dock B with 40 berths; Phase 3 (Q3 2026) adds customs and immigration for yachts up to 90 m. Projections beyond Q3 2026 may slip, as with most large marina projects.

What about insurance and safety on board?

Every chartered vessel carries insurance and crew-managed safety equipment, and crews are briefed for the day’s conditions before departure.

For foreign private yachts entering Indonesia, cruising-permit paperwork must include insurance with wreck-removal cover, so insured operation is baked into the regulatory framework. On the water, yachts fly the “Q” quarantine flag on arrival pending health, customs and immigration inspections. If you have a specific medical, mobility or safety requirement, flag it to our concierge in advance so the crew can prepare.

What permits do foreign yachts need in Indonesia?

Foreign private yachts require an Indonesian Cruising Permit — locally the “Vessel Declaration” — plus a customs temporary-import permit that allows up to 3 years in-country. The agent typically applies online about 48 hours before arrival.

Since the post-3-December-2011 rules, the old customs bond was replaced by a guarantee letter from a licensed Indonesian company. PIB (import notification) is processed at the first port, CAIT is the security clearance, and both extend in three-month increments up to three unbroken years; departure uses a PEB (export notification). Passports are stamped by Immigration at Benoa Harbour.

What documents do arriving guests and crew need?

Guests and crew are treated as tourists. Indonesia offers a 60-day tourist visa (visa-on-arrival for most nationalities). Passports must be valid at least 180 days beyond the intended stay.

Cruising-permit documents typically include the certificate of registration, insurance (with wreck-removal cover), crew and guest lists, last port clearance, ship’s particulars, a crew-effects list, a NIL list for restricted items, and declared controlled drugs or first-aid contents. Our concierge coordinates this paperwork with licensed agents. The only hard historical processing fee cited in sources is a US$150 CAIT fee.

Can you arrange sunset, proposal or corporate charters?

Yes — sunset cruises, proposals, birthdays and corporate events are our core day-charter formats. We tailor catering, floral, AV and photography as add-ons around your occasion.

  • Sunset — timed departure for golden-hour cruising off the Bukit coast
  • Proposal — discreet crew choreography, floral and champagne setup
  • Birthday / celebration — DJ or sound system, cake and bar service
  • Corporate / MICE — branded setups, catering and dockside receptions

See [celebration charters](/celebrations/) and [corporate charters](/corporate/) for details.

How does booking work?

  1. Enquire — message the concierge on WhatsApp with your date, group size and occasion.
  2. Match — we propose vessels and an indicative per-day quote.
  3. Confirm — we hold the date and issue booking terms in writing.
  4. Prepare — catering, transfers and any permit paperwork are arranged.
  5. Sail — meet at Benoa Harbour; crew briefs and departs.

Are airport and hotel transfers included?

Transfers are arranged as an add-on rather than automatically bundled. Because Benoa is roughly 30 minutes from Ngurah Rai airport and close to the Nusa Dua and Seminyak hotel belts, private car transfers are straightforward to schedule alongside your charter. Confirm pickup points with the concierge when you book.

What is your cancellation and weather policy?

Cancellation terms depend on the specific vessel and partner, so they are confirmed in writing at booking. Weather is the honest variable in Bali day charters — if conditions are unsafe, the captain’s decision stands, and we work with you on rescheduling. We never guarantee sea conditions or specific outcomes. Ask the concierge for the exact terms attached to your chosen yacht.

When is the best season to charter in Bali?

Bali charters run year-round from Benoa. The drier months generally bring calmer seas for offshore runs to Nusa Penida and Lembongan, while the wetter season can favour sheltered south-coast and Nusa Dua cruising. Sea state changes day to day, so we advise on realistic conditions when you pick a date rather than promising flat water.
