Bali luxury yacht charter guide

Benoa is Bali's primary commercial port and main yacht gateway, handling vessels from roughly 40 metres upward. It sits about 30 minutes by road from Ngurah Rai airport; a planned flyover is expected to cut that toward roughly five minutes.

The build-out is accelerating. On 22 May 2025, PT Marina Development Indonesia and Pelindo broke ground on Bali Benoa Marina — 180 berths planned, 50 for superyachts up to 295 ft (90 m). Figures are as of 2026, and large marina timelines often slip.

Budget, guest count and mood decide the tier. An indicative planning frame as of 2026, not a fixed tariff:

• Day cruiser / sport yacht: 6–12 guests, sunset runs and birthdays — from ~USD 2,500 per yacht
• Premium motor yacht: 12–25 guests, full-day Nusa Penida and corporate groups — mid four to low five figures
• Superyacht (40m+): 20–40+ guests, flagship events and weddings — five figures and up, often quoted per week

Pricing is per yacht, not per guest. You hire the whole vessel and crew, then layer in the extras your day needs — the headline rate stays honest and the add-ons transparent.

For context: Asia Global Yachting cites Bali day charters from around USD 2,500 per day; the Sailo marketplace shows Bali boats averaging roughly USD 1,230 per day (about USD 319 to 7,272). Superyacht day rates are not published anywhere, so we quote them only as concierge ranges.

Bali's calmer, drier months generally run around April to October, which most guests prefer for crossings to Penida and Lembongan.

The wetter season can still deliver superb sheltered south-coast and sunset charters. Because conditions shift, the concierge confirms the day's realistic sea state before you commit to a route.

Rules differ from a standard charter. Indonesia requires a Cruising Permit (the "Vessel Declaration"), a customs temporary-import permit valid up to three years, typically filed online around 48 hours before arrival.

Since December 2011 a licensed Indonesian company's guarantee letter replaced the customs bond. CAIT is the security clearance, PIB the import notice and PEB the departure. Passports are stamped at Benoa and must be valid 180-plus days.
